In this class, every assignment we’ve composed utilized summary, critical analysis, interpretation, synthesis, and argumentation. One assignment which I feel is a good example of this is the Memo which is one of the first assignments which we’ve composed in this class. Here’s a portion which embodies this course learning outcome.
I personally think that making a change to the Cleared4 system would be beneficial to all students and professor who enter the campus. The Cleared4 system was introduced around the Winter/Spring semester to accommodate students into the building with ease. Cleared4 was meant to be more efficient than an ID with a sticker serving as vaccination proof, but it does have its issues. Regarding Cleared4 link itself, the link corrupts or messes up occasionally forcing students to make a hard stop as they get to their next class. This results in them arriving late and being marked late for attendance which most professors don’t tolerate, and enough marks result in a decrease in the final grade.
In this portion of the memo a brief description of the problem was given to emphasize on why this issue is important and why it should be fixed. Additionally, the problem was analyzed to give what would be a seemingly good solution in the next portion and compares it to the previous version to argue how it would be better.
Despite Cleared4 being new, I think that it needs to be revamped into an application or more sophisticated link compared to what it is now. The current Cleared4 we have now displays an access code allowing access to campus, but then students have to make a stop to search around for their IDS to show to the guard checking as well. Even though this sounds somewhat simple, creating an app which displays the access code and ID picture simultaneously would make the process of entering buildings on campus a lot easier. The application in thought would have the ability to do the same as the website link, create appointments and display an access code, as well as display their CCNY information so it won’t be too much of a hassle to get inside the building. Overall, this allows a smoother process when it comes to entering buildings on campus.
