Acknowledge your and others’ range of linguistic differences as resources, and draw on those resources to develop rhetorical sensibility

The first course learning outcome was something we would do from the first assignment to the last assignment. In the group and solo activities we did, we utilized various genres to communicate a message to our audience. One of the main genres I learned to use in this class was memo. Memo was one of the first genres learned and can be considered the universal genre or one that everyone can understand.

In this class we utilized memo to convey our projects or ideas to someone who couldn’t go through the entirety of a memo. A good example of this would be the first assignment we did otherwise known as the memo assignment.

By this, it can be seen that the audience was analyzed to determine what genre would be used. Additionally, the memo made the context of the situation more understood, along with the exigence and purpose.
