CLO # 6

In order to create our assignments and make them as credible as possible we used sites and sources which were provided to us by the library. We learned about these and how to use them from a class which was dedicated to the library databases. A CCNY professor by the name of Trevar Riley-Reid came into our class and talked about the purpose of the databases as well as how they can be used in order to gather credible information for an assignment. Here’s an example of it being used: By using the library databases, I’ve found an example of …

CLO # 5

In this class we utilized a two types of digital technologies in order to communicate our message to an audience, PowerPoint and Word documents. Along with the different types of genres we had to used based on the audience, the formatting had to change too, and that was dependent on the genre. An example of this would be the Proposal, where if we had to present this to other engineers, we had this long document which explained every component and piece of the project we would look to do. Compared to when we actually presented it in class and we …

CLO # 4

This Course Learning Outcome is about working with others in order to reach a common goal or working together to improve your own writing. One example of this would be the discussion boards which we utilized throughout the entirety of this semester. For most of the group assignments, before we started working on them, we had to post our topics and receive feedback on them from our peers. An assignment which I feel shows CLO #4 is the “Lab Report Topic” feedback. Each group as stated earlier posted their topics and the other groups were to give us feedback on …

CLO #3

With every group assignment we’ve done in this class, we’ve had to write a reflection paper. The purpose of these reflection papers were to explain each rhetorical term and how they were appealed to in each of our documents or genres. A good example of a reflection paper or how I’ve met CLO #3 would be the reflection paper for the proposal. This assignment compared to the others, had a larger structure as well as demanded more for its contents. In addition to that, this assignment was different in the sense that it was more specific and more tending to …

CLO # 2

Course learning outcome # 2 was something we had to do in order to progress with our assignments. A good example of this would be the revision for the technical description. In our respective groups, on our smartboards, we pulled up each group members’ work and discussed ways to improve. With this session we went over our drafts and gained opinions and feedback outside of our own, allowing us to reach blind spots of our work. Additionally, the session allowed us to figure out in what way we could edit this work. In a way which makes it more efficient …

CLO # 1

Acknowledge your and others’ range of linguistic differences as resources, and draw on those resources to develop rhetorical sensibility The first course learning outcome was something we would do from the first assignment to the last assignment. In the group and solo activities we did, we utilized various genres to communicate a message to our audience. One of the main genres I learned to use in this class was memo. Memo was one of the first genres learned and can be considered the universal genre or one that everyone can understand. In this class we utilized memo to convey our …
